Charlie Hogg has practised meditation daily for the past 30 years.  From his own experience he believes meditation is an extraordinary tool to maintain mental, emotional and spiritual health in a world increasingly challenged by anxiety, stress and depression.

Charlie grew up in Melbourne and studied Architecture at Melbourne University but his lifelong interest in spirituality and philosophy meant that he left his architectural studies and traveled for three years through Asia, the Middle East and Europe.  During this time he lived in a variety of communities including Buddhist, Christian, and Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Taoist and more.

In 1975 Charlie had settled in London and came across the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation Centre where he learnt meditation.  He also took teacher training and returned to Australia in 1977 to open a Brahma Kumaris Centre in Melbourne.

In 1980 Charlie moved to Sydney where he became the Director of the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Centres in Australia.

Brahma Kumaris offer people of all backgrounds an opportunity to deepen their understanding of universal spiritual principles and learn practical skills through a variety of educational programs.

A simple definition of 'spirituality' is knowing how to live with meaning and purpose.

Across Australia the Brahma Kumaris work with many areas of the community including: multi-faith dialogue, youth programs, healthcare, women’s and men’s groups, values education, indigenous and seniors’ programs.

There are now 30 Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centres in Australia including three Retreat Centres; one on the Mornington Peninsula outside Melbourne, one an hour south of Sydney near Wilton and the third at Leura in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.

Charlie is based in Sydney and regularly visits the Retreat Centres and Meditation Centres around Australia.  He is also a regular international traveller having spoken at forums, seminars, retreats and workshops in more than 60 countries.
